Just recently, we lost our founding leader and Father, Tony Llorens Sr. He battled with a respiratory illness for a short time. It was a blessing that he passed comfortably. Tony lived the true American Dream. He came to Chicago during the Great Migration from Isle Brevelle Louisiana in 1954. He found a job at Sandusky Abrasives as a janitor. He then became plant manager and eventually bought the company. This was done through hard work and determination. Tony became a Catholic Deacon as part of the first African-American Diaconate. He led the faithful of St. Mel and later St. Martin de Porres by teaching the RCIA classes and baptizing converts. As a Father, Tony provided for his family with love and guidance. The company is still being run by our Mother Mathilda, who has capable hands. Tony is and will be greatly missed. He knew the grinding wheel business like the back of  his hand. May eternal light shine upon him.
